Authencity Brought to Light

Before to read this short story, when I saw the title, I was thinking in another kind of story, however when I had read it, I could not believe the end of the story. In simple words, it was a shocking story for me. I finished reading it, and then I had to answer a few questions about the story, obviously those question helped me in order to understand it. The story presents a shy woman that the unique thing she wants, it is please her husband at all, every day in order to keep alive all the love she feels for him. As a man is difficult to say how much the behavior of Cathy (the woman of the story) to her husband is better or the worse. Of course for a man is better, to have his wife at the house and to do whatever he wants, but in the other hand we have woman`s point of view, she deserves to be treated with respect and knowing what are their rights. So, this story shows us a kind of feminism from Cathy`s husband. When Cathy decided to become in Mercedes, I was amazing, because she looked pretty and the change of her name was interesting, according to class` discussion, Mercedes refers to the brand “Mercedez-Benz” it expresses luxury and beauty the same to the transformation of Cathy. Come back to the Cathy`s change, she did it, because she was tired, always her husband did not see her as a wife, also they did not have sex. She made a decision in order to feel good herself. Of course this is the best decision that Cathy made, to becomes Mercedes, she felt good herself, and this is the decisions that we have to take into count. We have to take care about ourselves, because anybody is going to do something for us, we must to do it by ourselves. At the end of the story was terrible, Cathy`s husband did not know that Mercedes was Cathy. When the narrator was narrating the story at that part (when they are at the hotel) , I felt good and I was expecting another end, but I did not think that the guy who was with Mercedes at the hotel was her husband. The last part of the story says “A single tier glistened from the corner of her eye. It was dark and the man had not seen it. Cathy crawled into the bed next to the naked man then reached and turned on the lamp. In a single frightened gasp the man said, “Cathy””. It was too difficult, just imagine that moment. Nowadays that happens maybe not like the story, but fidelity does not exist. It is too difficult to find some of it, or someone who has it. However we have to take care about our couples, be proud about what we have. “Nobody knows what they have, until they lose it”.

INTRODUCTION

“Literary Criticism”

My propose with this blog is to give my opinion and analyze people`s points of view, also I will express my ideas about different topics, in this case stories, and share information with my teacher, classmates and Ethernet browsers. My challenge is to persuade the people`s points of view, criticizing different details about stories. I think it works like a chat. I am going to enjoy it, because, I am going to learn from the persons, who will leave their comments about my opinions.
I hope with this course to know and reinforce my knowledge about literature and how to critic the stories, that I am going to read and analyze. Also, I hope to improve my reading a lot, indeed, to know more vocabulary that can help me with my English knowledge. However, my important goal is to take my time in order to read, analyze and understand the meaning of the stories, criticizing every important detail that they will give me. It is necessary to know that, it is very difficult to take the real mean of a poem or a story, so I will try to perform a good job with the stories, criticizing them in the correct way, following the important techniques that I am going to learn in this course. I expect good things, but I have to work hard. How will be my improvement at the end of the course?
